NEW SPECIAL SCHEDULE IN THE PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION
In response to the climate emergency,[1] the Venezuelan government announced a series of energy-saving measures that will be implemented by the National Public Administration and other bodies of the Public Power, including the Courts of the Republic as of March 24, 2025.
National Public Administration
- Business hours will be 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for the next six weeks, with exceptions for essential services.
- A “1×1” system is declared, where a working day is followed by a non-working day.
- During their working day, public workers will support the communal self-government halls and consolidate the communal circuits.
- The government urges Venezuelans to adjust the temperature of air conditioners to 23°C, take advantage of natural light and disconnect unused electronic devices to conserve energy.
Courts of the Republic
- The Courts of the Republic will be open on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., extending in some cases until 12:30 p.m.
Administrative Service for Identification, Migration and Foreigners (SAIME)
- It adjusted its hours of operation to Venezuelans from Monday to Friday, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., in all its offices located throughout the country.
- The Saturday days of renewal of ID cards will be held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Autonomous Service of Registries and Notaries (SAREN)
- The SAREN will serve users from March 24 to 28, 2025, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
In any case, several of these entities and bodies have defined their own opening hours for the public, so it is advisable to validate this general information with the administrative practice of each entity or body.
Other cases
For example, the Autonomous Service of Sanitary Comptroller (SACS) and the National Institute of Land Transport (INTT) have announced a schedule from Monday to Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., and the Miranda East Labor Inspectorate of the Metropolitan Area of Caracas has announced a schedule from Monday to Friday between 8:30 a.my 12:30 p.m. according to the announcement published on the billboard of the aforementioned Province.
